Primer

Privacy policy

Primer is built around private conversations, so the rules are short and strict. This policy explains what the app stores, how it is used, and how to remove it.

What Primer collects

Account details: your email address, and your name if you choose to give one. If you start without an account, Primer creates an anonymous account tied to your device until you decide to sign in.

Your content: the voice notes you record, the audio files behind them, the text notes you type, the transcripts produced from your audio, and the people profiles Primer builds from that content.

About you: anything you add under About You in the app, such as your role, company, location, languages, interests and topics you prefer.

Basic technical data needed to run the service, such as request logs and subscription status from the App Store or Google Play.

How your data is used

To transcribe your voice notes, extract the people mentioned, build and update their profiles, and prepare your briefs.

To keep your notes in sync across your devices and restore them when you sign in.

To manage your plan and usage limits.

Your content is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to build profiles for anyone other than you.

Who can see it

Only you. Every note, recording and person profile is scoped to your account at the database level, so no other Primer user can read your data.

A small number of authorised staff can access systems for support and security reasons, and only when it is needed to operate the service.

AI processing

Audio is sent to speech to text providers for transcription, and transcripts are sent to language model providers to extract people and write profiles and briefs.

These providers process your content solely to return a result to Primer. Your content is not used to train their models.

Storage and security

Notes, transcripts, profiles and audio files are stored on managed cloud infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest.

Access is protected by per user row level security rules enforced by the database itself.

Retention and deletion

Notes and people stay until you delete them. Deleting a note also deletes its audio file.

Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your notes, audio files, people profiles, preferences and profile record. This cannot be undone.

Your rights

You can view, edit or delete any note, person or preference at any time in the app, and you can delete your whole account from Settings.

If you are in the EU or UK, you can also request access, correction, export or erasure of your data by contacting us.

Children

Primer is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted here with a new date, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
